Reading the Image

Act I Jack, Wendy and Danny are travelling in a car. They’re going to a hotel that is closing down for the winter as caretakers. The characters and the hotel are introduced. Act II Danny starts seeing ghosts. Jack is being seduced by the dark side, he begins to see ghosts as well and starts acting strange. Wendy is oblivious to what is happening. Danny and Wendy realise that Jack is not well, they can do nothing about it. The weather gets worse and the hotel is cut off from the outside world by a snow storm (the obstacle). Act III  Jack looses his mind and the ghosts take control. He intends to kill Wendy and Danny. They both try to escape his deranged mania. He fails to murder them, he dies, they escape.

This is my final project for task 3 that was related to Malala's story. They re-tell the story through representative imagery.

Idea    For this task I decided to go for quite a narrow narrative that focuses on the most crucial parts of Malala’s life. Mainly the turning point from which her life changed, the moment when she was shot on the bus, and her surviving the attack and eventually speaking against the terrorists and bringing this issue to the open.    I want to convey this message through photography, my idea is to take the moment she was shot, a moment when the terrorists thought they had silenced her  forever, and then contrast it with images of Malala standing victorious with a book and a pen as her metaphorical shield and sword. Her weapons against the Taliban oppressors.   Location    For a location I thought of using anywhere where I could have pitch darkness, I want the subject to be the  main focus , limiting background objects.
