Subjectivity

What is Subjective and what is objective? How can we tell whether something is fact or opinion?

Subjectivity is mostly defined by the interpretation given, of an object by individuals. Things can have an objective truth, however people still can have a subjective understanding of it.

One person may say that the pyramids are ancient while another may consider them just old, or one may think they're precious while another may think they are useless ruins. This difference in perception gives rise to a lot of different opinions and ideas which are a defining factor in what is accepted as true or not. these different perceptions give rise to more creativity in some aspects while sometimes also limiting it.

Most things being subject to interpretation, will have people doubting them and scrutinising them, in film this can have an effect on the message perceived by the audience depending on their preconceived ideas and the way they interpret certain cues that the filmmaker put in his/her film. What someone interprets as violence another may interpret as a normal action.
